Lawton Station Community 

The Directors  

Wayne Quinlan is the Head Boys’ Coach at Hilton Head Island High School. He also coached at Dutch Fork, Eastside and Beaufort HS. He holds a USSF “B” License and has amassed over 400 wins in high school and club soccer, two club state championships and several high school region titles and state Final Fours. Coach Qinlan has been selected to coach in 3 All-Star matches including the 2010 Clash of the Carolinas, NC vs SC match, and has been selected to the SC High School Soccer Coaches Assn Hall of Fame.

Chris Ayer is the Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Lander University.  Coach Ayer is entering his 6th year at Lander.  Ayer is currently the Head 1997 SC Girls ODP coach and is on Region Staff.  Prior to heading up the soccer program at Lander, he served as Head Men’s and Women’s Coach at Coker College in Hartsville, SC. Ayer began his coaching while serving two years as an assistant coach at his alma mater Lipscomb University for both the men’s and women’s teams.  He holds a USSF “A” License.

The Island Soccer Academy is designed for the purpose of improving a player’s technical ability and tactical capacity and for players to learn to enjoy the game of soccer.  The camp will emphasize skill in a challenging and enjoyable setting.  For both the beginning and advanced player, our goal is to provide the tools necessary for each camper to become a better all around player.     SEND ALL PAYMENTS TO Coach Wayne Quinlan 105 Grand Court North, Bluffton, SC 29910.

I/We the undersigned hereby certify that I (we) am (are) the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) of the camper.  I(We) hereby give permission for the staff of the Camp to seek appropriate medical attention for the camper and for the medical attention to be given and for the camper to receive medical attention in the event of accident, injury, or illness.  I will be responsible for any and all costs of medical attention and treatment.  I/We, the undersigned for ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators waive, release and forever discharge the staff, officers, agents, employees, representatives and successors of Wayne Quinlan’s Island Soccer Academy and assign of and from all rights and claims for damages, injury or loss to person or property which may be sustained or occur during participating in Camp activities or while at Camp, whether or not damages, injury or loss is due to negligence.  I/We hereby acknowledge that our child is physically fit and mentally capable of participating in soccer camp activities.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  What do I bring?

A:  Each player needs to be properly equipped to play including soccer shoes (cleats and indoor/tennis shoes), shinguards, and athletic clothing.  They will also need to bring a water bottle and sunscreen.  Please do not bring any valuables or large amounts of money.  

Q:  Do I bring my own ball?

A:  Yes.  Each session will be planned by the instructor as if each child has their own ball. 

Q:  Will there be food?

A:  No.  There will be a small amount of time set aside for campers to eat a snack between sessions.  No food will be provided or sold.  Water will be provided for all campers.  

Q:  What time should I be there?

A:  You will need to be about 15 minutes early on the first day to take care of final registration.
Q:  Will I receive confirmation?

A:  Campers will be e-mailed to confirm and answer any questions that parents may have. 

Q: Where do I report?

A: Camp drop off and pick up will be behind the Island Rec Center near the playground and by the Lawton Station Pool.
Q: Will there be goalkeeper training?

A: Yes! If we have enough goalkeepers.

Lawton Station- Take 170 toward Savannah. Turn at Lawton Station sign, approx a half mile south of Bluffton Pkwy.
